REGISTRATION:

All participants must check in at the SCGA registration tent located near the cart staging area upon arrival Monday morning.

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS:

Starting holes and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week in advance of the Championship.

Round 1 (Monday) will be a Split Tee Start at 7:30 a.m.

Round 2 (Tuesday) will be a Split Tee Start at 7:30 a.m.

Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss and distribute to each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive in time to watch the group in front of them tee off.

FORMAT:

The Championship will be 36 holes of four-ball net stroke play competition (two-person better ball).  18 holes will be played each day.  Each player receives 90% (men) and 95% (women) of their Course Handicap.  After the reduction, if partners’ Course Handicaps differ by more than 8 strokes, an additional 10% reduction will be applied to their Course Handicaps (this is the USGA recommendation).

During the Championship, the lowest Handicap Index from the July 1 to the September 15 revisions will be used to calculate each player’s Course Handicap.  If a player’s lowest Handicap Index from July 1 to September 15 is above 18.4, he or she will play down to 18.4.  In addition, every player’s scoring file is reviewed by SCGA staff.  The SCGA Rules & Competitions Committee reserves the right to adjust a player’s and/or team’s Course Handicap at any time prior to or during the competition.
